It's great to have a social media site that stands up for the rights of trolls, but when everyone leaves who will the trolls troll? If Elon Musk
really cares about the trolls he has to put things back to the way they were it it's just gonna be trolls trolling trolls. He doesn't care about trolls at all. He's trying to destroy them.
The highest accolade of being a troll is to be blocked. And now even that is going to go.
Catie and I went to the swanky M and S in Stevenage. It was my first time. She's been before. She couldn't wait to show me the food hall. Even Liam Gallagher had tweeted enthusiastically about it. When I was dragged round M and S in Weston-Super-Mare in the early eighties I never dreamed I'd be the kind of person who went there willingly, nor that I'd be the kind of person to eat my lunch in the cafe in M and S, nor that I'd be the kind of person to buy T-shirts at the bargain price of three for £22 at M and S (that would probably have seemed impossibly expensive then).
But I am now exactly that person.
To be fair I wore M and S pants that my mum bought until I was at least 19. I remember an American woman encountering them on one of the first occasions a woman was to see my pants and asking what the fuck they were. I told her they were normal pants for a British man to wwear. It was a lie though. They were normal pants for a 12 year old British boy to wear. She still gave me oral sex though. Maybe the only time this has happened to someone wearing M and S pants.
I also applied to work in M and S in Weston-super-Mare in 1985 during my year off. I was planning to take the full time job for a few months, make some money and then resign to go round the world. I got as far as an interview, but the person taking it wondered why I wasn't going to University given the excellent exam results I'd been too stupid not to put on my CV. I tried to pretend I wanted to go into the world of work. But she knew that even then I could do better than this. I didn't get the job.
Here I was though, back in M and S and loving it. And I considered buying some pants. Life goes full circle. I guess if any American wants to fellate me now I will just have to take the underpant hazing first.
Phoebe had a sleepover at a friends' and we got Ernie to bed early enough for us to watch a film. It was Maggie Moore(s) which was quite a dark film about casual murder. Tina Fey and Don Draper were going out with each other again, but it wasn't as funny as 30 Rock. But it wasn't trying to be. We enjoyed it and it wasn't the usual formulaic nonsense and Nick Mohammed was in it, so that was good.
