I assume the cleaners at the hotel think that I am on the old nose cocaines, because every morning I add some Creatine powder to my first glass of water (not sure it does anything, but I like to buy everything that Instagram recommends) and usually spill some. Today I tried to brush it off the desk, but it just went into the grooves on the wall and looked like I'd done a Woody Allen (sneezed into cocaine, rather than marrying my own daughter). I tried to clean it, but it just seemed to make it worse and in the end I just thought it was easier to let the cleaners think I was on cocaines and call the police and then get me sent to prison.
To be honest I should be imprisoned for thinking I need a spoonful of creatine every day.
It was the final day of filming and a relatively light day for us as we waited to discover who was the best at the thing we were doing. Friends and family were allowed to come along and watch the finale and Catie and the kids were there. Phoebe was very excited to meet one of her favourite Taskmaster contestants (ahem - why are you having your photo taken with that other person?) and someone off of Traitors - come one we're all on Traitors. This is series two of Celebrity Traitors that we're filming, you idiot!
Ooops, that was a slip up. I wish there was a delete on this thing.
Not really. The person who'd been on actual Traitors had already informed me that you are basically treated like a prisoner during filming and aren't allowed a mobile phone or any internet access for a fortnight. So you'll know if I am ever on it because I will suddenly go very quiet for a fortnight.
Though it's probably more likely I'll be dead. So don't get too excited if I go quiet.
Also I am hoping that if I do ever get on Traitors I can show them this blog and explain that it will be a giveaway if I don't keep blogging.
Except I will probably only be able to blog about being stuck in my room and thinking Miriam Margolyes is a traitor so that might give it away too.
Despite this being a sometimes frustrating and exhausting job, it's been very rewarding too and it was the last day for the crew too, who've been working here since August and have all kept their patience and politeness unlike me. We got to be in the crew photo, where you get a real idea of just how many people are involved in making a show. They all seemed pretty happy, but then they were about to go home too.
It felt like being part of a team that would be together forever, but as soon as the thing was finished everything evaporated and things started getting taken down and we vanished into the night, never to be together again. It's the way of this business. You make bonds and friends, but have to be able to let go before you go on to the next thing. It all falls apart and you build the relationship with someone else (or if you're me, sit at home and wait five years for the next one). Sometimes the bond is stronger and more memorable. I have made particularly good friends with one of the other celebs. On paper we didn't have loads in common or certainly had some things that were definitely not in common, but despite that we clicked and supported each other and one of us cried on parting. There were lots of tears on this job. Not all of them from frustration. Whatever else happened in this crazy little scheme, to make that kind of connection with someone is a terrific prize.
Even as everything else disappeared around us, I think that will remain. Like something you assume was a dream but you find that something has survived into the waking state and is still with you.
It was fun to show my kids a bit of what I did. And they were excited about the possibility of ending up on TV. Ernie is already asking if he is a celebrity because he might be in the background of a shot, though I have warned him that that's not a great thing to aspire to be. He won't listen though. He's an idiot. Like his dad.
