Bizarre Article from More magazine 8/11/95

To publicise our Fist of Fun book and video me and Stew did this interview for More magazine where we pretended we lived with each other. We did live with each other (and Tim Richardson and Andrew Mackay) when we first came to London, but by this late stage sharing a house would have driven us insane. I think the reporter knew we were pretending and the pic of the two of us in bed together is clearly a gag, but in hindsight I'm surprised we went along with this!

Guardian Weekender from 95?

This is something I wrote for the Guardian and then adapted for Richard Herring is All Man.

"Bob Says Who?" Ticket

"Bob Says Who?" Ticket

Stew and me wrote some gags for a radio pilot starring Bob Mortimer (which wasn't entirely unlike "Shooting Stars" nor neither that much like it either!)
This was the entrance ticket. I have a tape of the show somewhere, though feel it isn't enough mine to put it up on a website.

Programme for tour of Talking Cock

Programme for tour of Talking Cock

This is the free programme (apart from the first couple of gigs where I tried to make some money from it) from the UK tour of Talking Cock.
A collection for the Everyman, a cancer charity raised almost £2000.

Another sketch by me that was in the previews of the Oxford Revue but was axed before the tour.
Again it is mainly rubbish, but I have a soft spot for it.

Turd Beetles

Turd Beetles

A rather poor early effort written by me on my own. I played the Mother Beetle in a terrible rip-off Terry Jones woman voice.

Why am I showing this to the world?
The only way is up.

The first script written by Lee and Herring together

The first script written by Lee and Herring together

Although we had performed some sketches before that we had written separately, this was the first script we collaborated on (along with Mike Cosgrave and Rich Canning).
The song mentioned was a deliberately annoying dirge, which went something like "I wish I had invented penicillin. I really wish I had invented penicillin. I'd sing all day long I invented penicillin. I wouldn't have to worry cos I'd have invented penicillin"
Each verse was the same but wished a different thing. One was "I wish that I was Henry D Perky" and another was "I wish I knew pi to 17 decimal places".
I think I wrote that when I was 12!
The man drinking beer is a cross reference to a previous sketch which was a triple act called Spoon, Knife and Peterson, which was essentially a trad double act, except they had a man sitting drinking beer at the side of the stage.
