I’m vaccinated, bitches!
I have been licking strangers faces and plunging my hands into open sewers and crossing the road without looking for traffic and there is nothing that Covid can do to get me now. As is my understanding. (It’s OK non-joke fans, I know that I am not yet protected and will not be walking into traffic until I have had the second injection).
The medical staff I’ve been dealing with this year have been so unrelentingly cheerful that I can only imagine they’ve been pumping themselves full of drugs to get through this. The vaccination station was organised with military precision, with about 8 separate rooms and people moving through at speed. It must be dull work, although I suppose that unlike a usual doctor or dentist trip most people are incredibly grateful to be getting the jab. But still, my innoculator was breezy and happy and everyone involved was in high spirits. I suppose this does feel like the first step in getting back to normality and like we’re winning the war, but I am still amazed by the resilience of our medical professionals.
I got the Oxford jab and am very much in the AZ gang and will make it my lifetime’s mission to hunt down and kill any of the stinking Pfizer crew. Their blood is full of engorging nanobots . Us AZs are the chosen people and must prevail.
It was all very easy and there have been no immediate side effects, though I understand that some people feel a bit lousy the next day.
I got a sticker too, which is a nice touch, though they could have sprung out for a lollipop too. There must be some lolly cash left over from the Track and Trace.

It does feel like the first glimmer of light at dawn and gives us hope that we might be starting to edge towards normality soon. But it might just be someone with a torch coming over the hill, like all the last few times.

Otherwise I spent the day researching Brian Regan for tonight’s podcast. He’s not a comedian that I was super familiar with before I booked him, but I like his style and his comedy specials have had me in fits of giggles (I watched one about two days after the operation and it really hurt to laugh and yet I couldn’t stop laughing) and today I watched a bit of Loudermilk, a sitcom Brian is in, which I had never heard of before, but which is really interesting and dark and funny. It’s on Amazon Prime if you want to give it a crack.
Brian was, as I’d hoped, excellent company and a very down to earth man, unchanged by success who loves his job and the craft involved in it. He’s been a stand up for 40 years. The podcast will be out in three weeks.
