No chocolate today. I am back off the wagon (wheels).

Time is getting tight and episode 6 is still just a few ideas floating round in my head. Today I worked on the final drafts of a tricky episode 2 and a slightly easier episode 3.  It makes sense to get everything right before attempting the final episode, so that I don't have to rewrite everything when I spot the plot holes and missing character development, but my hour glass just has sand fumes at the top. We were meant to be starting recording the series on Monday, but due to actor availability it's now next Wednesday. Those two extra days may prove to be very significant. And there is some extra recording at some point in the future, so if the worst comes to the worst I might get away with it.
I always get away with it.

Obviously I hate myself and want to die. Luckily I haven't arranged to do a half marathon the weekend after next. Oh wait..
Luckily the kids have started waking up at about 5.30am. Hold on, that’s another bad thing. Why don’t I understand the concept of luck?
Things are a little bit stressed.

The kids have been watching the Narnia films this week. My son referred to the first one as “The Lion, The Witch and the Cupboard”. I mean it’s no more ridiculous than the actual title, but still somehow is funny. Magic lands can only be reached via clothes storage units, not by somewhere you’d keep your plates. Come on Ernie, don’t be an idiot.

I quite liked the Narnia books as a kid and pretended to have read them all, but I think I only actually made it through three of them. Same with Doctor Doolittle. I knew my parents liked the idea of me reading stuff, but I found it a bit boring, even with series that I liked. Maybe both those franchises were a bit boring and old-fashioned by the seventies, though I don’t remember us really having a glut of relevant books for kids back then. My dad always rolled his eyes when I spent my book tokens on Peanuts books. But the heart knows what it desires and something in me knew comedy would be more important in the long run. It’s always been comedy. Above all else. Until I had kids and I only like them when they’re funny.
