I remain, I assume, immuno-compromised and I do seem to be readily picking up annoying bugs. Also though I am 59 and so a full 4 hour working day does exhaust me. I was under the weather and decided I should have a rest day.
After doing the kids' breakfasts I tried to go back to sleep, but to no avail and then spent quite a lot of time trying to work out why our electric car charger keeps cutting out after about 5 minutes. Not sure I solved that, but I did at least manage to charge the car over a period of about 12 hours.
I watched Ludwig followed by a couple of episodes of Only Connect and realised I was having a day of entertainment largely courtesy of the Coren-Mitchell household. I joked in Edinburgh that my new kink was Only Connect contestants, but there is a certain amount of truth in it. I love a wonky nerd. I am a wonky nerd myself. If we don't procreate then wonky nerds will die out and who will go on Only Connect? Anyway if you've ever been on Only Connect I am up for giving it a go. If my wife says it's OK. I sort of suspect she won't mind. Wonky nerds don't count, right? I certainly said nothing about them in my wedding vows.
I did start to look into doing a Craven Newsround, but my throat hurt already and I was tired and then I had to pick up Ernie from school. What the mainstream media doesn't realise is that people don't need news every second of the day. Or even every day. Just every few days is fine.
Though I am glad to note that after my mackerel expose, the lamestream media have finally covered the story.
Life can be harsh and dreary, but even with a tiny bit of post-cancer manflu (and to be fair, it was only mancancer too) I do like being alive. And also would like there to be a safe world here for my kids. And many future generations of humans so there's a chance that someone will finally spot my genius and my legacy as the new Samuel Pepys crossed with Shakespeare can be recognised.
We do have exactly the wrong people in charge for the many issues that we are facing and about to face and I am no longer very confident that there will be any kind of enjoyable world left pretty soon. I mean it's cool to be in the final ever generation of humans (though even as everything comes falling down and we are blasted to death by AI robots, we won't be able to be sure that humanity is completely over) but I'd be able to enjoy it more if I hadn't reproduced.
We ran this fucking place right into the ground and boy we had some fun. I'd apologise to future generations now, but not much point.
