» Review: Richard Herring – The Hitler Moustache

In his current show Richard Herring takes on racism and the recent rise of the BNP. These are not easy subjects for comedy but Herring handled them skilfully, taking a sideways approach that, while occasionally featuring trains of thought that flirted with causing offense, was never pointlessly shocking. It was, however, really, really funny. Much comic mileage was gained by analysing liberal attitudes to race and racial terms, culminating in a routine where Herring tied himself in knots over his rights or lack thereof to use such terms – one highlight in a show full of them.
