Richard Herring November News

Hi all,
Happy Halloween. If you haven't started making your cumpkins by now you may have left it too late. Or need the assistance of more friends.
I've had quite an eventful October - check my blog for details of Gervaisgate!
Here's what's coming up for me over the next month - lots of exciting stuff.

WHAT IS LOVE ANYWAY TOUR
I am doing a few tour dates this year (though the bulk of the dates will be in early 2012). Tickets are selling fast, so please BOOK NOW.
All dates and website details are listed here - http://www.richardherring.com/wila/tour.php

8th Ashcroft Arts, Fareham

CHRIST ON A BIKE DVD
The DVD of Christ on a Bike, the Second Coming is released on 31st October. It's a double disc set packed with extras and will be available in the shops and Amazon and Play and so on. But there is a third disc which includes a Collings and Herrin Live gig (not available anywhere else), the 1999 documentary "Richard Herring in Fiji" and much more which is only available from Go Faster Stripe - http://www.gofasterstripe.com/cgi-bin/website.cgi?page=videofull&id=11309
You can also purchase a show programme from that website, all the profits of which will go to SCOPE
So please buy this from gofasterstripe who will plough your money back into making loads of non-profitable DVDs from brilliant comedians who wouldn't get to make DVDs otherwise.
It's the perfect Christmas gift. Much better than some myrrh anyway.

FIST OF FUN DVD
The four disc set of series 1 of Fist of Fun will be available exclusively from Go Faster Stripe http://www.gofasterstripe.com in mid-November. It's at the manufacturers now, so will be ready whenever they have printed it all up. But it will be in around three weeks. We have bought this ourselves at some expense, because the BBC did not want to bring it out. But we know you want to have it. It includes all 6 episodes and the pilot episode, plus studio rushes (for most of the shows) including some unbroadcast sketches, retakes and lots of banter. There is also commentaries from Stew and me for each episode (and some from Kevin Eldon and Ben Moor too), an exclusive interview with Stew and me about the series and pdfs of LOADS of scripts and memorabilia. It's pretty awesome. It's £25 + p&p.
Series 2 will be out next year and if these do well we'll look in to releasing TMWRNJ (tmwrnj) too.
It's the perfect Christmas gift as well. What, do you only get people one gift? Please buy it for all your friends and family!

RICHARD HERRING'S OBJECTIVE
The second series of my Radio 4 show will be begin broadcast at 6.30pm on November 8th. It's in four parts: Golliwog, Wheelchair, Page 3 Girl and Old School Tie. We have recorded three of them already and I have been very pleased with them. They will be available on iPlayer and I am hoping the first one might be released as a podcast too.
I am also recording an episode of Wordaholics on 31st October - You can get free tickets here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/shows/shows/wordaholics_2011

LYRIC HAMMERSMITH
Brilliant Lyric Hammersmith gig on 30th October with Stewart Lee, Josie Long, Sarah Kendal and me. Still some tickets left, but they're selling fast so BOOK NOW - http://www.lyric.co.uk/whats-on/production/comedy-night-october/
November's line-up includes Joe Lycett and Jarred Christmas - http://www.lyric.co.uk/whats-on/production/comedy-night-november/?pes=Comedy

OTHER GIGS
I am curating an evening of the First Direct Dialogue Festival on 3rd November. Check out the website for details. They've got some brilliant people involved - http://www.dialogue.firstdirect.com/
I am part of an impressive line-up at the Hammersmith Apollo on 18th November for the Friends of the Earth benefit - "Laugh or the Polar Bear Gets It" - http://www.hmvtickets.co/events/3398

HALF MARATHON
I completed the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon in the impressive time of 2hr 16 minutes and 25 seconds. If you want to sponsor me and give some money to SCOPE, please do so here - http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=richardherring

PODCASTS
I will be meeting up with Andrew Collings next week and hope that will see a return of the Collings and Herrin podcasts. In the meantime you can subscribe to Warming Up daily podcast on iTunes or via Soundcloud http://soundcloud.com/herring1967
You can also subscribe to the written form of Warming Up on your Kindle at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Richard-Herring-Warming-Up/dp/B004SRFTJ8/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1319628862&sr=1-1

GORGEOUS
I've been asked to write a second draft of my comedy drama script about a fictional Somerset gorge - "Gorgeous" - but I've been too busy arguing with idiots on Twitter to do it.

I think that's all I've got for you. Though if you're in London town I recommend that you get tickets to see Tim Minchin's musical "Matilda". It's awesome.
Enjoy Bonfire Night responsibly!
