This is what she has to say on the issue…
“As to the reference for the self penetration figure -- btw, the practice is technically referred to as "autopederasty", which involves pushing aside the testicles and stuffing a well lubricated semi erect glans into a well lubricated anus-- my first citation of the figure dates back some 25 years to a workshop with William Hartman, Ph.D., a noted sex researcher in Southern California (I did my first round of sex therapy training with Dr. Hartman and his partner, Marilyn Fithian). It was an entry among other notes involving various unusual physiological 'acts and antics', including fisting, self fellation, etc. Hartman and Fithian did quite a lot of research in their own lab, and also had associations with Kinsey, Pomeroy, and other pioneers of the time, so I'm not sure if it was based on their own work or derived from other existing data. The figure has also been cited by "penis researcher" Gary Griffin in his books (Penis Size and Enlargement, etc.).
The citation mentioned in the Schwartz book actually refers to a very rare type of autopederasty...a man who not only could get his penis in his anus, but could also bring himself to orgasm. Be aware that men who can do the former (more than a few) generally cannot do the latter (hardly anyone!).”

Don’t you just love the internet? Ten years ago, I would have had to write a letter to her agent or publisher and then maybe got a reply in a couple of months (if she’d ever got the letter and could be bothered to buy a stamp), now I get an answer within 48 hours.
Admittedly the sense of wonder is slightly soiled by the fact that the information being passed is about men putting their penises in their own rectums, but evenso!
