Um... no thanks. I'm good.

Been (half) watching New Tricks from the start and wondering why Amanda Redman doesn’t feature in the final shot of the opening credits in series 7. What's the story there? She was in the final shot for the other series. Who edged her out? I ask the questions no one else dares.

It's back! The number of emails and messages I've had asking when it would return would be very difficult to count. But Twitch of Fun episode 99g was recorded today. If you weren't one of the many people who watched it live (again it would be difficult to count, unless I looked at the email that gives me precise viewing figures), then you can watch it here.
Or if you want to enjoy it, as God intended, in audio only. Then you can not look at the screen or head here.
Good to be back in the saddle, though I am a bit concerned about Ally's nose. A bit came off it during this month's bonus podcast episode and I laid it aside as I thought some idiot would pay hundreds for it on ebay. But the cleaners efficiently disposed of what looked like rubbish but was in fact a 133 year old religious artefact. So sorry to the idiot who would have bought that.

It's fun to look through the news to see which non-stories are being pedalled by the so-called Mainstream Media. The Sun is trying to whip up a furore that that traditional British food smoky bacon crisps might have to slightly change ingredients as a result of Keir Starmer making a new agreement with the EU. Farage attempts to make political capital out of this. Why not? If you through enough shit at the wall some of it will stick. You can't predict what people will get up in arms about - who would have thought straight bananas or the definition of gender or being polite to people (sorry woke) would be such political footballs. So maybe having to use a different ingredient to make smokey bacon crisps smoky will be another one. There's a danger that the change might make smokey bacon crisps actually taste a bit more like smoky bacon so this is a risky strategy.
They add
"A Government spokesperson also told The Sun: “Anyone claiming smoky bacon crisps are for the chop is peddling porky pies.
“The Great British crisp industry will still be able to produce mouthwatering flavours - and find it easier to bring home the bacon by exporting to new markets.”"
So don't worry, it's all just a fun joke and everyone is tongue in cheek. Because of course something like that isn't worth blowing up our relationship with our biggest trading partner over.
Honestly the shit that journalists will churn up just to fill their quota of articles for the day.
But they should be looking into proper new stories, like why Amanda Redman isn't in the last frame of the opening titles of series 7 of New Tricks.
