I went to my second music gig of the week and this time I was in less discomfort. I was at the Borderline to see 6 Day Riot, who I met when you they were on the same edition of Loose Ends as me back in April.
I really love their album, so it was great to finally see them live and they didn't disappoint. It was quite a contrast to Example. When me and my friend Andrew arrived at the venue there were probably only about 20 people there and there was even places to sit down. Numbers picked up and by the time the Riots were on (there were four acts playing) there were probably 100 or so people in the room, but we were able to watch without being pressed up against someone else.
The music is also somewhat of a contrast to the shouted hip hop I had endured earlier in the week and I was delighted to be able to hear the lyrics and appreciate the performance.
They are charming and competent performers and the music is infectious and original. It's cool (and unusual for me) to get into a band near to the beginning of their career, and I am confident that these guys are going to be big. So why not become fans of them now and buy their album and then impress your friends.
