Me1’s turn at the Park Run after a brief hiatus. Interesting I woke up this morning unable to walk without hobbling from a little strain from my personal training session this week. But running proved to be pain free. So I simply have to run everywhere. Me2 had eased into post Fringe Park Runs with a 29 and a half minute run a couple of weeks ago. Me1 didn’t seem to put in too much more effort, and though he was two minutes off his own personal best, he cruised in in 27 minutes and 19 seconds, with bags of energy left. Hopefully Me2 can bounce back and get close to the so far unbeaten (by any human as far as I am aware) sub 25 minute 5k run.
Me1 got the glory, though I had to cope with the aftermath. It’s always a dash from the run  to get back home to get in the shower and then take my daughter to her gym class. Then we had to rush back for my father-in-law’s birthday lunch. York City’s FA Cup qualifier was being streamed on the BBC news site, but I couldn’t really watch much of it without seeming impolite. So I just caught the last ten minutes and missed York’s second goal because I was talking to people. Why do I have to interact with other humans at all. I can’t wait until my soul is uploaded to the Matrix and I can get on with surfing the internet without interruption.
By the time we were home and there had been playing and dinner and early baths for my sand covered kids, I was ready to drop and when my wife took her turn to look after her kids (that she had, so I don’t know why I am even involved at this stage) I fell asleep on my bed at 5.30pm.
I managed to get up to do the last bit of bed time for the kids and stayed up for some dinner, but once again we were in bed on a Saturday night before 9pm. No one crashed into any of our neighbouring properties this week, not that would have woken us anyway.
Two podcasts in one week had taken it out of me. At least I didn’t have a third one tomorrow - oh wait.
