Richard Herring goes where no man has gone since 1945… the Chaplin Moustache.

For every twenty comedians up at the Edinburgh Fringe, there’s one who’s been there, had the TV show, and moved on. By moving on they master the one hour show format the Fringe love. And Richard Herring is clearly a master, returning year after year with fresh insights and cutting commentary.

This year he’s set himself a lofty goal, to reclaim the Chaplin Moustache from the last person to use it… Adolf Hitler. There’s no fakery here, Herring has grown the once fashionable ‘tache and used it as a springboard for a vicious look at sexism, racism, nationalism and of course facisim in the world today.

Playing to packed crowds in the Underbelly, this is a tour de force from a mature comedian with a lot to say, and who realises (like Chaplin before him) that humour is the best vehicle to hold up a mirror to society. Totally recommended for everyone.
