Welcome to RichardHerring.com

Hello, I am called Richard Herring and this is my web-site.

Although there are some very good sites about the work I have done with Stewart Lee, (most notably http://www.leeandherring.com ) I have never really had a place to gather together information and memorabilia of stuff I've done on my own.

Most notably I have worked very hard over the years producing Edinburgh shows and plays and it seemed a shame that these have just disappeared into the ether. So I thought I'd put them up here, so anyone who is interested can read them. That's not to say that they will never resurface in some form or another. Or that you can steal my jokes.

There's a biography of everything I have done (or can remember doing) since I was 18. I apologise if I have got some of the dates wrong or missed some stuff out. I am very old now. If you spot any errors or omissions, then please let me know.

I have also dug out some old sit-com scripts and bits of journalism that I've done. I will try to put everything else I write for the media up here from now on. And it will be my versions of the articles, rather than ones cruelly sub-edited by newspaper twits.

You can see some of the stuff the newspapers have said about me, on the press page. It is all lies, like everything in the newspapers.

There's also a kind of daily diary thing about my boring life called Warming Up. You'll see why.

I have always been very keen to get feedback from the people who have seen my stuff, so there's a guestbook. If you have any questions I will do my best to answer them. You can either use the guestbook or e mail me.

You can find out about my live gigs in the gig guide.

There are also some useful links to sites that I think are worth looking at. Please e- mail me if think you know of any important sites that I have missed and I will include them.

I would like to keep you up to date with what I am doing, so if you'd like to leave me your e mail address I will add you to a Richard Herring mailing list and send out occasional newsletters, which will sometimes include special offers on gigs and products. It will also ensure that you are the first to know about anything I am doing. You have always been very helpful (that's people who like me collectively, rather than you personally) in spreading the word and assisting in projects like Talking Cock and I think it is important to repay your support. As Ice T said, "Who controls your destiny? Fans!"

Actually you don't see so much of him any more do you?

YOUTUBE: See a bit of my drunken gig from the Frog and Bucket on July 2nd here and watch as I effortlessly appropriate material from both TMWRNJ and Lionel Nimrod's Inexplicable World!

NEW STATESMAN: I write a fortnightly blog for The New Statesman website, which occasionally has stuff that hasn't appeared in Warming Up in it.

LEE AND HERRING VIDEO: Why buy the audio version of the slightly disappointing Lee and Herring video, when you can hear AND see it here for FREE.

TMWRNJ: The first episode of TMWRNJ has been posted on google video. I suspect more might follow - Click here to see it
Or you can access loads of episodes on the website of Stewart Lee.
