Andy Collings and me are very different people, which is lucky for the dynamic of our improvised double act. Luckily we still like each other despite our differences. The Arabs and Jews could learn a lot from us. Especially given that like me and Collings, Arabs and Jews are actually pretty similar and play up their difference just for effect.
But our differences were given physical form today as we both took our lunches up to my attic to consume after the completion of podcast 39.

Paul Putner has sent me a couple of pictures of the Lyric night, which will give you a taster of what was going on. Very impressive costume from the Put I think you will agree.

I saw a lot of Andrew Collings today, even though we're not recording our podcast til tomorrow. We've been having a few meetings with people who are interested in seeing what they can do with out podcast.

Another Tuesday, another panel show. Today I headed out to Sky TV in West London to appear on "What The Dickens", the Sky Arts quiz about films and books and shit. It wasn't such a different set up to Buzzcocks. I mean, instead of Lil Chris (too late I thought that I should have said last week that I hadn't realised it was "Lil" Chris and that I thought he was just sponsored by Lidl), there was Germaine Greer, but apart from that it was almost identical.

The big gig and all the other work that preceded it has wiped me out. Apart from having to do a quick edit to an article I had written I had the day off today and didn't get out of bed til after midday. I think I'd earned the rest. I have not been getting many days off and work weekends. But I am going to take it relatively easy this week.

Lee and Herring performed on stage together tonight for only the second time in the last nine and a half years. It was quite a nerve-wracking day. Neither of us were on top physical form. I was still vertiginous and Stew showed me (and later the audience) the impressive infection on his leg, which although much better than it had been was still quite nasty. As I later said at the end of the first half of the show, "Coming Up, the 1990s double act, Dizzy and Scabby!"

When I haven't been busy with all the other stuff I've had to do since Edinburgh I've been trying to knock together a 30 minute (though due to ads only actually 22 minute) sitcom episode using the characters from "You Can Choose Your Friends". Partly due to the gabbiness of that title and the fact that people never managed to remember it correctly and partly to trick the people who didn't like it at ITV (by no means everyone) into thinking it's a different project it has a new snappier name - Relativity. I which I'd thought of that before.

I can't believe we didn't point it out in the podcast and maybe it's too obvious to say, but the ridiculous thing about the newspaper's reaction to that stupid bath sex story is once again that although the Mail are taking the moral high-ground, they are actually reprinting the photos in a national newspaper, that will be seen by far more children than the 42 who were accidentally given the book.
